The Half Moon Bay Downtown Business Association, Half Moon Bay Coastside Chamber of Commerce & Visitors’ Bureau, the City of Half Moon Bay and the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastside, along with our premier sponsor, Blue Sky Designs announces the 10th annual “Nights of Light!!” This is a great fun for the whole family!

Come walk amongst the promenade of trees all a glitter with beautiful lights on Main Street in downtown, Half Moon Bay on Friday, December 4, 2009. Nights of Lights promises to be extra special this year because you can shop in the stores, which will be open until 9:00PM,as well as watching the parade, listening to live entertainment, visiting the children's area and also having an opportunity to bid on the fully decorated trees! These special trees will be decorated and donated by Galleria Luna, Pasta Moon, Half Moon Bay Feed & Fuel, Music Hut , Moonside Bakery, The Paper Crane, Castellammare, Mizu Salon, Personal FX, and Coastside Dentistry. All of our premier sponsors also are providing a decorated tree and those can be seen in their stores or at La Piazza and MacDutra Park. A silent auction will be held and the top bidder can take home their tree that
evening. You won't want to miss out on this magical, festive holiday event. The proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the The Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside and the Downtown Business Association.
“Nights of Light” will begin with a tree lighting ceremony at Mac Dutra Park at 6:00 p.m. followed by a night of family festivities and the parade! The beautiful tree donated by Cozzolino’s Tree Farm will be on display in the center of town at Mac Dutra Park on the corner of Main Street and Kelly Avenue.
After the tree lighting, the Prince and Princess of the parade will be crowned. The royal children are nominated by teachers and community leaders and chosen by a committee based on their acts of kindness throughout the year. Proud sponsors of the event are Harbor Seal Company, Casey’s Café and the City of Half Moon Bay.
Hundreds of children twinkling in lights will march down Main Street in the “Parade of Lights” at 7:00 p.m. Floats and an old-fashioned fire truck will guide Santa to his special seat for photos and wish lists. Other events include snowflakes on Main Street, roasted chestnuts on an open fire, strolling carolers, and lots of old-fashioned charm.
